Mr. Olivas handed out stickers for students to wear outside Manzanita at lunch. Students wore red on Oct. 11 in support for National Coming Out Day, encouraging young people around the world to be confident in their sexuality and gender identity.

Senior Emre Ezer spoke to the junior and senior classes during school meeting on Monday about his journey to understand and define his sexuality.

Because National Coming Out Day is this Thursday, Emre said his speech on behalf of Harker Gender-Sexuality Alliance (GSA) to encourage students to wear red on Thursday as a show of support for the LGBTQ+ community.
