Cross country team attends final meet of the season

Freshmen Niki Iyer takes the lead on the course, finishing over 50 meters ahead of the second place runner. The cross country team ran its final meet today at Crystals Springs.

The cross country team ran at its final meet of the season at Crystal Springs today.

Although neither the boys nor girls Varsity teams placed, Niki Iyer (9) maintained a steady lead throughout the 2.9 mile course, crossing the finish line first, over 50 meters ahead of the second place runner. Her time of 17:47 is the 5th fastest time by a freshman in course history. Corey Gonzales (11) placed second in the Varsity Boys’ race with a time of 15:47.

The team prepares to return to the Crystal Springs Course for league finals this Thursday.
